More about Compresses:
Thai Hot Herbal Compress Massage (Luk Pra Kob) is a wonderfully warming treatment, perfect for this time of year. You will learn techniques to benefit every part of the body. This year we will have an emphasis on using the compress on the abdomen, for digestive and reproductive health.
Hand made herbal compresses are steam heated to release the aroma and properties of the herbs, such as lemongrass and lime leaf, white ginger root, frankincense resin and borneo camphor. Then they are patted, pressed, pounded and pummelled on the body. A very tonifying and restoring treatment, adaptable for everyone, relieves muscular tension, deep bruising or torn muscles, good for respiratory ailments, water retention, fatigue, fertility, you name it! Just close your eyes, relax, and melt into a warming Thai reverie.
In the case of muscle or tendon injury, hot herbal compress works by allowing the body’s immune and anti inflammatory process to do it’s own work, whilst the combination of the heat, and the anti inflammatory herbs, enhances this process and prevents energy and blood flow stagnation from setting in.
